Wicklow-born, Dublin-based comedian Danny O’Brien is set to bring a night of hilarity to the North East this month as part of the Hilarity Bitesize New Act & New Material Night hosted by the Hilarity Bites Comedy Club at The Pot House in Hartlepool.
With seven years of stand-up comedy experience under his belt, O’Brien has been performing on a regular basis at the finest comedy clubs and festivals back home in Ireland as well as in the UK, Europe and the US.
After his first solo show at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, O’Brien went on to gain great critical acclaim and later that year he was awarded the title of “Dublin’s Funniest Comedian” at the celebrated Stand Up For FM104.
With back-to-back sold-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, O’Brien is well on his way to becoming a Fringe veteran; his success at Scotland’s illustrious festival has earned him numerous offers to perform at comedy festivals all around the globe.

Back in his motherland of Ireland, O’Brien is the resident host and owner of his very own comedy club in the heart of Dublin; The Comedy Crunch has established itself as one of Ireland’s best and busiest comedy clubs and was represented at last year’s Vodafone Comedy Festival in Dublin.
O’Brien has supported such acts as Ardal O’Hanlon, Colin Murphy, Brendon Burns, and Wilson Dixon on his travels and in 2013 he participated in Irish TV show The RTE Comedy Awards and later released his first comedy album on iTunes as part of the Irish Underground Comedy Show.
Danny O’Brien plays The Pot House, Hartlepool on Thursday 17th May. Tickets are priced at £3.00 in advance or £5.00 on the door and can be purchased online at hilaritybites.co.uk or by contacting The Pot House on 01429 280052.
