One of the North East’s finest comedians is returning to his familiar stomping ground of ARC, Stockton this month as Jason Cook – accompanied by his Geordie Rat Pack collaborator Glen Roughead – is set to deliver a night of chaotic quick-fire stand-up.
Following a string of successful shows at ARC, Jason Cook made his name as one of the best-loved MC’s at the venue’s hugely popular Catch 22 Comedy Club and his show in May was secured by cosmic public demand after his previous performance sold out months in advance.
At the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Cook gained critical acclaim for his solo show, ‘My Confessions’, a show that would go on to win the ‘Best International Show’ category at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival.
Cook is the writer and star of the BBC Two award-winning comedy show ‘Hebburn’, set in his hometown of the same name. Broadcast for 2 seasons and a Christmas special, ‘Hebburn’ first aired in November of 2013 and went on to receive critical praise, winning ‘Best New Sitcom’ at the 2013 Comedy.co.uk Awards.
After becoming tired of playing second-grade comedy clubs, Cook set out in hope of bringing great comedy to the North East and established his own range of comedy clubs; to this date, he’s founded three clubs across the region and they can be found in Newcastle, Hexham and South Shields respectively.
This brand-new show is a must for stand-up fans and, if Cook’s last gig is anything to go by, this show will no doubt sell fast.
Jason Cook and Glen Roughead will entertain the crowd at ARC, Stockton on Saturday 12th May. Tickets, priced at £15.10 in advance (including booking fee), are available to purchase online at arconline.co.uk or by contacting the ARC Box Office on 01642 525199. This event is for those aged 18+ only.
