Liverpool comedian, presenter and actor John Bishop returns to Newcastle this month with his ‘Winging It’ tour.
The comedian has come a long way since making his TV debut on the comedy show, The Panel. Bishop has starred in a number of self-titled shows including ‘John Bishops Britain’ (2010/11), ‘John Bishop’s Only Joking’ (2013) and ‘The John Bishop Show’ (2015).
He’s also well known for his services to charity. In 2012, Bishop raised £4.2 million for Sport Relief during a five-day, 290-mile triathlon from Paris to London, earning him an Honorary Fellowship at Liverpool John Moores University for his contribution to the arts and charity work.
Before embarking on a successful career in comedy, Bishop played football at non-league clubs Hyde and Southport which proved to help the charitable comedian during two Soccer Aid matches for UNICEF in 2012 and 2016 for England.
John’s achievements in comedy began at the very beginning when he won Best Male Comedy Breakthrough Artist in 2010 at the British Comedy Awards. His successes lead him to host a comedy gig at The Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust using his natural comedy talent to aid his committed charity work.
In May 2014, loyal and true to his Liverpudlian roots, Bishop donated £96,000 to the Hillsborough Family Support Group in acknowledgement of his hometown sufferings.
The multi-talented comedian returns to Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th November for two dates that are set to be full of laughs from start to finish.
Tickets for both of John’s dates, priced from £27.50 in advance, are available to purchase now from metroradioarena.co.uk. Doors open at 8:00pm.
