TUSK Festival returns to Sage, Gateshead for its 8th edition this month, once again bringing its uniquely diverse programme of adventurous international music, film exhibitions and more to the North East.
Spanning across two days – from the 12th to the 14th October – TUSK Festival is absolutely packed and bursting with a plethora of interesting and entertaining acts and events.
There will be conventions for films, exhibitions, talks and workshops alongside a truly eclectic and international music menu and TUSK’s trademark slew of UK debuts.
This year will feature something rather exclusive for those who have an interest in the film industry too – the TUSK Festival FILM Programme.
On Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October, movie maniacs will have the opportunity to witness the delights of a full five hours of film for free. This includes the chance to see new independent films from the likes of Jake Meginsky’s biographical documentary ‘FULL MANTIS’ to the official UK premiere of ‘Ice Pick To The Moon: The Story of The Rev. Fred Lane And The Raudelunas’.
The film programme, however, is only a small part of TUSK Festival 2018.
Highlights for the main event include the godfather of minimalismTerry Riley, Tokyo’s hero of noise Otomo Yoshihide playing solo and a unique collaboration with ‘Konstrukt’ – and NYC duo 75 Dollar Bill making a rare UK appearance with their big city desert rock.
