During my time at NE Volume, I have had the pleasure of writing about many different events and listening to many great local acts and I have the learned that our part of the world is filled with weird and wonderful people doing weird and wonderful things. And I, myself, have grown as a person and a writer.
But it is an unprecedented first, and a rare treat for me, I’m finally able to say to you that this event is going to be a load of crap – literally. Pause for suspense. That’s because the Life Science Centre in Newcastle is putting on a wonderful new exhibition dedicated to all the natural wonders of poo, in an event aptly named ‘The Poo Show’. Pause for laughter.
All jokes aside, this looks like a great way to teach young and curious minds about everything to do with waste and sanitation. If your kid has ever asked why poo is brown and why there is always water in the toilet, now is a great time to not only let them learn some fun things but also take them on what is sure to be a great day out. The Life Science Centre strives to make learning fun for young people and toddlers, so it is worth giving your kids that experience (and yourself too – you’ll love it).
The event is perfect for children aged five and over and, of course, adults can join in the fun too. And if you are visiting the Life Science Centre and want to have a go at ‘The Poo Show’ (pause for Laughter), then it is recommended that you set aside twenty minutes to enjoy it fully.
