“‘Grumpy Old Women’, the smash hit spectacular that has entertained people on both the stage and the screen over the last decade and a half, will be making its way to the Gala Theatre in Durham on Saturday 19th May.
The show has been going since 2005 and has been so well-received that is has toured across the globe including Australia and beyond. It’s a show that has something for everyone and will take the subjects of today and turn them into an evening of laughs and light-hearted comedy.
This year’s show, which is certain to be better than ever, boasts a cast that would make you worry if Loose Women has enough stand-ins as heading up the cast are veterans of the show, Dillie Keane and Jenny Éclair, with Lizzie Roper also making her debut on this tour.
“It’s a show that has something for everyone”
‘Grumpy Old Women’ has featured female musicians, actors and journalists straight from the UK’s “who’s who” of British talent over the years, with past cast members including Annette Badland, Denise Black, Britt Ekland, Rhona Cameron, Linda Robson, Wendi Peters, Susie Blake, Kate Robbins and many more.
The press has been kind to the show too, with The Daily Mail stating: “The writing is stiletto-sharp. Great gales of laughter greet every admission and shared middle-aged secret.” And The Observer citing it as: “Warmhearted, witty, empathetic and, dare I say it, rather empowering.”
Due to the nature of the show, it’s recommended that audience members are 16+. I think it’s also important to state that it doesn’t matter if you’re a man, woman or gender-neutral, this show is certain to be a fantastic fun-filled evening for all involved.
