If you’re an avid reader of NE Volume you may remember me talking about ‘Mother’s Ruin’ back in October. Well, now the trailblazing alternative cabaret platform is set to return with a show that will not only bring back fans of their previous visit to Stockton but will no doubt attract a whole host of other culture lovers too.
If you’re a fan of brave and bold entertainment that combines a serious message with silly and fun-loving entertainment, then ‘Mother’s Ruin’ is for you. Expect a radical, brave and beautiful performance with a sprinkling of song, silliness and sass.
Essentially, it’s fun with a mission. As stated at mothersruin.co.uk: “Mother’s aim is to foster abiding relationships with venues to cultivate a thriving, cohesive network of creative support for regional LGBTQ artists and wider audiences – particularly for marginalised communities and areas of cultural isolation.”
Having played venues all across the North West recently, ‘Mother’s Ruin’ will be making an appearance on our humble side of the Pennines this month. Whether or not they will return to ARC so soon after this remains to be seen, so it’s this writer’s suggestion that you make the most of this opportunity to go and have what looks like a whole lot of fun.
Much like many of the performances put on by ARC, ‘Mother’s Ruin’ will be operating on a Pay What You Decide policy. So whether you fancy popping a fiver into the pot or you’re rich enough to brandish the elusive fifty-pound note, it’s a great chance to see some fantastic entertainment for a price that won’t break the bank.
‘Mother’s Ruin’ will be at ARC in Stockton on Friday 9th March. For more information about the production please head to mothersruin.com now.
