The Pale White have had a cracking year. From supporting Twin Atlantic to playing Neighbourhood Festival, the Newcastle band have been all over, bagging themselves quite a hefty amount of gigs.
November saw the band release their second EP, ‘Take Me To The Strange’, which has had an incredibly positive reception so far; the EP boasts five tracks including the previously released ‘Wisdom Tooth’ and ‘End Of Time’ as well as new songs ‘Trapped Nerve’, ‘Panic Attack’ and ‘The Future Is Mine’.
Speaking to the band about their year, they said: “2018 has been a bit of a whirlwind: lots of hours have been spent in the van travelling to new places and we’ve also got to play to some of the biggest crowds we’ve played too yet.
“We’ve just recently put out our second EP which is the proudest we’ve ever been of any of the material we’ve released so far in our journey – it’s made us very excited for what’s to come next year.”
To celebrate and round up a wonderful 2018, the band are heading to Northumbria Institute on Saturday 8th December for their final gig of the year.
Speaking about the gig, they said: “We’re going to play a mix of new and old songs. There are a few songs we’ll be debuting on the night and also some old songs that we might even be putting to bed so it could be people’s last chance to hear some of them live, potentially ever. It’s also our last hometown headline show for quite some time, so people who want to catch us don’t want to miss out on it.
“We’re playing the longest set we’ve ever played so it’s really going to test our stamina jumping around for that long – we’re going to lay off the festive bakes during the lead-up.
“It’ll be the biggest live show we’ve had and it’s really going to be something else. We seriously can’t wait for it. We think people are going to be really into it.”
In terms of next year, they added: “In 2019, we plan to tour pretty heavily again and have lots of our own headline shows around the country, spreading the good word. We’ll be releasing more new music at the beginning of the year as well so people aren’t going to have to wait too long to hear some new material.”
