Want to keep up-to-date with the music scene and find your new favourite band? Then Amplify The Anthems may just have the solution.
Amplify The Anthems is a new music platform that offers ease of use for both artists and music fans.
This innovative platform is the brain-child of former Northumbria University student Adam Johnson, who is using his background in promotions and media to help fans find new music, and help bands and performers find new fans.
Adam had worked on the media team for BMW’s launch of the i8 supercar, but his real passion for new music brought him to the creation of Amplify The Anthems. The platform will also help artists to, as Adam put it: “sell merchandise, market their music and act as a bridge to the opportunities of live performances throughout the UK”.
Modern technology has given musicians an amazing array of tools to deliver their music to fans around the world, but the vast quantity of content on YouTube and Soundcloud can leave artists lost in a sea of videos and tracks, making it difficult to stand out from the crowd. New and unsigned acts may not have a large enough fan base to tour the UK, sell merchandise and of course market their music. Amplify The Anthems gives these bands a platform to do this, and to a certain extent can take the place of traditional band management functions.
““This platform will be a must-have tool for unsigned bands to break through to bigger things”
From the fan side, as Adam mentioned, “Amplify The Anthems showcases bands through charts based on genre and region, so you can find new music and see what other users are getting into”. As the platform develops, data on sales and streams from other platforms and sources will be incorporated, giving fans an up-to-date picture of what’s hot on the music scene right now.
Ease of use is key to Adam’s plans: he wants to keep things simple so that people can concentrate on the most important part – the music.
As an artist, setting up is easy: there are three levels of access from the basic (and free!) service to a pro set up that allows access to all services for a small monthly fee.
Growing through 2018, this platform will be a must-have tool for unsigned bands to break through to bigger things and could become the largest collection of unsigned and independent artists in the UK.
