Your New Year’s Eve plans just got a lot more exciting as Carl Barat from The Libertines goes behind the decks at this one off, intimate DJ set in North Tyneside.
The musician is landing at the Black Horse pub in Monkseaton on Monday 31st December for this one off DJ-set.
The indie idol is best known for co-fronting the controversial, garage-rock band alongside Pete Doherty, but has also had success with a solo career and as part of bands Dirty Pretty Things from 2005 and The Jackals from 2014.
The intimate, jam-packed NYE blow out is made possible by Our Little Indie Night, a not-for-profit team of DJs focused on bringing the biggest DJs from the world of indie to small towns and venues. Their past endeavours have included sold-out DJ-sets from The Charlatans’ Tim Burgess, Bez from the Happy Mondays and another favourite from The Libertines, Gary Powell.
The night starts at 7pm as Our Little Indie Night DJs kick off the proceedings with some much-loved indie anthems, as well as a second room of funk, soul and house brought to you by Steve Hildreth of Gesu Music. Then it will be time to ‘strike a light, raise your glasses and drink a toast to the boring classes,’ as Barat brings in the New Year!
