Binker & Moses return to the North East this October after a triumphant gig at Gateshead International Jazz Festival in March earlier this year, which proved to those that saw them that they are one of the most exciting jazz duos around.
Down to earth and focussed on doing their own thing, there’s no doubting the pure talent that Binker Golding (saxophone) and Moses Boyd (drums) possess – you just need to watch their recent performance on Later With…Jools Holland to see what all the fuss is about. Oh and also, they won a MOBO award, two Jazz FM awards and a Parliamentary Jazz award in the space of nine months…
Support comes from local experimental trio, Archipelago.
Sharing interests in garage rock, free jazz and minimalism, they’re a band determined to take chances and rearrange their music on the fly, 2017 saw them launch their debut album ‘Weightless’.
Such talent on stage is coup for Gosforth Civic Theatre. Having been open a year, they are forging a reputation as an exciting fringe venue in Newcastle; the intimate nature of the venue makes it the perfect stage for Binker & Moses to prove once again they are a band not to be missed.
The gig takes place on Thursday 12th October, with doors at 7.30pm. Book tickets now via gosforthcivictheatre.co.uk or call 0191 284 3700.
