Soulful and unique singer-songwriter genius Blue Rose Code plays The Cluny 2, Newcastle on Tuesday 7th November in what’s certain to be a wonderful live set that’s guaranteed to usher you into a sombre, yet content, winter mood.
The Scottish songwriter has really begun to mature and in recent years has produced some of his most exciting material including, most notably, ‘The Ballad Of Peckham Rye’, which was nominated for the highly prestigious Scottish Album of the Year Award. This tour will coincide with the release of his latest album, ‘The Water of the Leith’, which is to be released by renowned record label Navigator Records and will be premièred in his hometown of Edinburgh before he heads south for his Newcastle show.
The new album covers the themes that make up the artist’s nomadic lifestyle of travel, love, loss and home, with the overall theme mainly rooted in his long-awaited return to his homeland of Scotland after moving from place to place.
Being broadcast across the airwaves of the BBC, Blue Rose Code is definitely a rising star on the folk music circuit and is an artist not to be missed. His live shows are known to be magical and memorable and have even been giving the nod by acclaimed actor Ewan McGregor who stated: “Seriously, I can’t recommend Blue Rose Code enough. I cannot stop listening.”
