This month, Leeds-based group Living Body is due to hit the stage at Newcastle’s Cluny 2 for their final show of their current tour, which has taken them across both the UK and America.
Living Body is the new project from Leeds-based Chicagoan Jeff T. Smith (f.k.a. Juffage) featuring long time collaborators Katie Harkin (Sky Larkin, Wild Beasts, Sleater-Kinney, Flock of Dimes) and Tom Evans (Vessels). Rising from the ashes of their acclaimed ‘Sonic Cauldron’ concert at Left Bank Leeds, the group is now augmented by Alice Rowan (Mayshe-Mayshe) & Sarah Statham (Esper Scout).
Beginning their live performances in summer 2016, the band has amassed an impressive fan-base and massive touring schedule, with appearances at numerous festivals both in the UK and the US.
After releasing their long-awaited LP, ‘Body Is Working’, they were met with fantastic reviews across the music media, including BBC6 Music and Amazing Radio. And to keep that momentum going, they’ve continued to tour in order to grow their fan-base.
Earlier in the year, they performed throughout America, arriving in the UK on August 11th for their first show at Derby’s Dubrek Studios.
The band will continue to perform across the country throughout September, with a few Scotland dates in there (Hug and Pint in Glasgow on Friday September 8th and Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh on Saturday 9th September) before they make their way to the North East on Sunday 10th September to perform at renowned independent venue, The Cluny 2, in the heart of the Ouseburn Valley in Newcastle.
Tickets for their Newcastle show, priced at £6.00 in advance, are available now from thecluny.com. For further information about Living Body, or to purchase their debut LP ‘Body is Working’ head to livingbodylife.com right now.
