Surf-rock might not be something that immediately springs to mind on your music spectrum, but it should be. It’s a genre of music that has taken over in Australia and band Skegss are flying the flag for it in Newcastle this month.
Long hair, hats and baggy t-shirts are on the agenda (the surf rock version of suiting up). But it’s not all about style, as their huge tracks are the driving force of the whole operation.
And going from strength to strength, their debut album, ‘My Own Mess’ is the whole reason behind this tour; hit tracks on the album include the excellent ‘Smogged Out’ and ‘Up In The Clouds’.
The Aussie boys, their singles and their album are a fresh reminder that music doesn’t always have to be the same to be fantastic.
Skegss play Think Tank?, Newcastle on Monday 26th November. Tickets, priced at £11.00 (including booking fee), are available from seetickets.com.
