The North East boasts some of the finest live music venues in the land and one of those gems has got to be Hartlepool’s stunning 120-year-old Gothic-style Town Hall theatre.
For a little while now, this eye-catcher has been home to some of the areas best up-and-coming artists who have performed under the umbrella of the hugely popular Town Hall Live series which is a quarterly affair that has already featured performances from the likes of Shamu, Plaza and Para Alta.
Town Hall Live #5 will present four quality acts this month including N/\L/\, Leopard Rays, Andrew Smith and Marketplace.
Solo electro-punk artist and connoisseur of ‘sad dance’ music, N/\L/\ is the work of 21-year-old Leeds-based composer/producer Holly Readman.
Leopard Rays, with their explosive riffs and seamless hooks, are a newly-formed band that certainly aren’t lacking in the passion department.
Fans of Father John Misty, Whitney and Owen will love the sound produced by Andrew Smith, a one-person DIY recording project from Hartlepool who is inspired by a variety of American lo-fi indie rock outfits.
And Marketplace, a brand new band from Hartlepool, have just started recording demos in their front room. If you’re a fan of either Blondie or Flock of Seagulls, you’ll love this band.
Town Hall Live #5 takes place at Hartlepool Town Hall on Friday 12th October. Tickets are priced at £5.00 on the door.
