Ty Segall and The Freedom Band are bringing their newest album on tour with them in Newcastle this month.
‘Freedom’s Goblin’ is Ty Segall’s 15th studio album and packs a vast range of musical variations into four sides; mixing in ballads, bangers and belters, this album is completely diverse in its songwriting and is crafted with a beautiful technique and stunning production.
Five studios were required to piece this album together and that spanned from L.A to Memphis and everywhere in-between.
The album comes from ‘days of vomit and days of ecstasy and escape too, and days between’ – and if that doesn’t make you want to catch Ty Segall live this month, then nothing will.
Ty Segall has toured non-stop with his band, titled The Freedom Band, a collective who create an incredible live experience. Teaming up and storming the UK, the group boasts a massive back catalogue and a hugely diverse one too, unparalleled by nearly any other band.
The Boiler Shop is one of Newcastle’s little musical gems, a venue that has intimacy and a warm, friendly vibe – it’s the perfect place for Ty Segall and The Freedom Band to tear the walls down and shake the venue to its core.
Support for the night comes from Mike Donovan, a Californian-based musician best known for being the singer and guitarist of Sic Alps.
You can catch Ty Segall and The Freedom Band at The Boiler Shop in Newcastle on Friday 8th June. Tickets, priced at £20.00 in advance, are available from thecluny.com where you can also find out more about what’s coming up at The Cluny over the coming months. Doors open at 7:00pm.
