Wooden Shjips, the long-time leaders of the contemporary psychedelic movement, are making their way to the North East this month as they take the stage of Gateshead’s illustrious Sage 2.
The quartet of Omar Ahsanuddin, Dusty Jermier, Nash Whalen and Ripley Johnson augment their already rich sound with laid-back, classic summer songs. They collectively share a love of classic rock from the Velvet Underground to Neil Young, as well as more overt love of the San Francisco scene of the 60s. This commonality in their formative musical years binds them even though they live in different cities.
Wooden Shjips play the Sage 2, Gateshead on Thursday 13th September with doors opening at 20:00. Tickets start at £11.40 and are available to purchase online at sagegateshead.com/event/wooden-shjips/ or by calling the Sage Box Office directly on 0191 443 4661.
