For the first time in eighteen years, the Richmond Live organisers decided to take a fallow year in 2017. However, don’t worry, it’s just been announced that the event will be back next year.
For almost two decades now, music lovers and local businesses in and around Richmond, North Yorkshire have been counting down the days to Richmond Live.
The event, held on the scenic Richmond Batts, has grown steadily since its modest beginnings in the mid-1990s.
Back then, a handful of volunteers put on a low key gig with a few hundred interested visitors looking on.
Since then, big-name band’s including The South, From The Jam, Paul Carrack, Marillion and Bad Manners have hit the stage and wowed the crowds into the night. The result is an enormous, loyal following.
Mike Jinks, Committee Chairman, commented: “On behalf of the entire Richmond Live committee and crew, I’d like to thank the people of Richmond and our loyal followers for their patience during our fallow year. We are all rested, refreshed and excited to be back. We are planning a show that will be bigger and better than ever!”
The show line up will be announced in 2018.
The event will be held at the usual venue, the Batts, on August 3rd and 4th 2018. The ticket prices will remain the same as 2016 with advanced tickets available soon from Wescantickets for a mere £10.00 for the whole weekend. Tickets will also be available on the gate at £5.00 for Friday and £10.00 for Saturday so it really pays to buy your tickets in advance.
