The Richmond Live team of volunteers are already hard at work planning the 2018 show.
Richmond live is a non-profit making organisation so one of the keys to a great show is fundraising prior to the event.
The small ticket price goes towards paying much of the costs after the show, but there are a lot of expenses and deposits to pay well before the event kicks off in August. The support of the council, local businesses, buying advertising in their event programme or a retail pitch all adds to the coffers.
Committee Chairman, Mike Jinks, commented: “Without the support of the council, local businesses and residents, Richmond Live literally couldn’t go ahead as we rely upon the funds up front to lay the foundations for the show.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support we receive, and this year Purple Creative Studios have already been extremely generous by giving a £1000 donation to the event. We can’t thank them enough.”
Richmond Live has held various fundraising events in the past – including a battle of the bands and open mic nights – and this year they have decided to try something different.
Crowdfunding has become extremely popular for events like this and the Richmond Live volunteers have set up a crowdfunding page on justgiving.com. Donations can be made at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/richmond-live and every pound received will go towards making Richmond Live 2018 the best ever.
The event will be held at the usual venue, the Batts, on August 3rd and 4th 2018. The ticket prices will remain the same as 2016 with advanced tickets available soon from Wescantickets for a mere £10.00 for the whole weekend. Tickets will also be available on the gate at £5.00 for Friday and £10.00 for Saturday, so it really pays to buy your tickets in advance.
