Progressive indie-pop four-piece King No-One teases a new chapter and promises to reveal all they have been working on during their latest tour, which includes a date in Stockton later this month.
Having played the BBC Radio 1 stage at Reading and Leeds as well as main stage performances at Truck and Y-Not festival, this time they are drawing on their principles of equality by touring lesser visited venues.
Manchester-based, but formed in York way back in 2013, King No-One found their beginnings busking around the dreary streets of the UK. With the pure grit of Yorkshire, they performed their own music to gathering crowds of sometimes up to 200 people and soon earned themselves both a reputation and following. Boundless fun-filled sold-out shows followed including capacity shows at Dot to Dot (O2 Ritz, Bristol Academy and Rock City) and two tours a year, selling out in excess of 8000 tickets.
Their catchy guitar-fuelled catalogue of songs, paired with determination and drive, have cemented them at the forefront of modern DIY culture. With an ethos that is socialist at heart, they embrace their well-deserved fanbase regardless, pumping out great singles and a raucous live experience whilst consistently tempting new listening ears. More so, their debut album ‘The Dead Hotel’ charted at number two on the Indie Breakers Chart and number 21 on the Indie Chart in 2019.
Describing the tour as a rebirth, the band are poised and ready to continue to charm with a collection of new material plus plan to recapture the hearts and minds of their fans with all the old favourites. With an expectation for unforgettable hooks, vibrancy and sheer talent, there’s promise of a new era with all the political angst they have built their foundations on.
There are many reasons why King No-One emerged as one of the country’s leading live guitar bands. Whether that is the connection they feel and ultimately show to their audience or the compelling way big questions are answered through unapologetic, politically charged lyrics – one thing is certain, King No-One have all the ingredients that make their shows unmissable. Go see for yourself at KU in Stockton on Thursday 24th October.
Tickets, priced at £14.00 in advance, are available from kustockton.co.uk.
