An Holistic Wellbeing Centre in the North East is certainly standing out from the crowd with its striking exterior.
Shanti Bee, an Holistic Wellbeing Centre in Byker, has attracted attention recently as Chris Fleming, street name Ida4, has stencilled a series of meditating yogi’s on the building.
Chris, who lives locally, said: “We chose elements as the theme, so each of the main stencils conveys a different element: earth, air, fire and water.”
The project, which has lasted three months, conveys the holistic values of the centre, using a well-known yoga pose referred to in Sanskrit language as Siddhasana.
Shanti Bee Community Interest Company facilitates activities like yoga, youth activities and infant groups – it has something for all ages. It offers Community Rate Complementary Health Therapies such as massage, reflexology, reiki and Indian Head massage and also runs pop-up activities and wellbeing days in organisations across Newcastle.
Rosie Mason, Manager and Director at Shanti Bee, said: “I love the new look! The way he has incorporated the four elements with the symbols makes for such an inviting entrance into the building. We’d like to demonstrate to the local community how accessible health activities like yoga and massage are and we hope this new look attracts more people to pop in and see all the amazing activities we offer.”
