Meiosis is, at its core, Martin Thompson, alongside a collective of talented collaborators who help bring his musical vision to life on this debut album.
Their new release features nine self-penned tracks that wear their influences openly. There are clear nods to Pulp in both vocal delivery and song structure, alongside echoes of The Associates, Talk Talk and David Bowie. While these references are evident, Thompson maintains a distinct vocal identity that avoids imitation.
Across the record, the songs blend 1980s indie-pop sensibilities with a modern production approach. The result is an album that balances immediacy and melody with darker, more introspective undertones.

‘Wishing It Was Sacred’ feels like it could comfortably sit on radio playlists, while other standout moments include ‘Restart/Start Again’ and the particularly memorable ‘Pushing My Luck’.
