It’s truly refreshing to hear some great new metal music from an inspiring North East band.
‘In My Head’ is the latest track from A New Nowhere, originating from Newcastle and bringing together brothers Mark and Kevin ‘Kev’ Gregg.
Listing their influences as ‘90s grunge, it’s immediately clear that the duo cut their teeth listening to Nirvana, The Deftones and Staind before writing their own music.
Lyrically, the song tackles the subject of mental health and makes a bold statement to those who perhaps feel even more trapped and isolated in recent months due to the pandemic.
It’s a phenomenal track and one which fits right inside my playlist of more established songs – and there’s even a guest appearance on the single from My Vitrol’s Ravi Kesavaram, adding to the star quality.
You can listen to ‘In My Head’ now on all major online streaming platforms.
