Ripping Yarm’s Comedy Club served up four comedians this evening, including tonight’s compère, MC Freddy Quinne.
First up is ADHD-riddled, half-Welsh homeowner Matt Richardson, unleashing a nonstop tsunami of genital-related jokes.
Tom Taylor follows with lashings of whimsical weirdness. He delivers surreal one-liners, anecdotes dripping with faux naïveté, and clever little ditties on a Casio keyboard.
For the finale, headliner Joe Pasquale bumbles on to the prop-littered stage, sporting PVC trousers and a toy mole on his back. Later, he strips off to reveal a leotard emblazoned with the face of a famous royal. What follows is an unpredictably unhinged amalgamation of madness, featuring a maniacal magic show, grotesque stunts, live art and hilarious musical numbers. It has to be seen to be believed – and even then, you’ll question whether it was all an absurd fever dream.
Ripping Yarm’s Comedy Club returns with Katherine Ryan on Sunday 22nd November. You’d be mad to miss it.
