It’s fair to say Joe Pasquale has had one hell of a career in comedy. With his unmistakable voice, gloriously daft sense of humour and knack for turning the most ordinary situations into something ridiculous, he’s been making audiences laugh for more than three decades. Now, he’s heading to Yarm on Sunday 11th October, bringing his particular brand of comedy to the Princess Alexandra Auditorium as part of Ripping Yarms Comedy Club.
For anyone who grew up watching him on television, Joe is a pretty familiar face. From winning I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! to appearing on countless TV shows and touring the country with his stand-up, he has built a career around a very particular brand of comedy: silly, energetic and completely unmistakable.
And while the voice might be the first thing that springs to mind, there’s much more to Joe’s comedy than that. His shows are packed with silly stories, sharp observations and plenty of the daft humour that has kept audiences coming back for years. He also has that rather brilliant ability to take something completely ordinary and turn it into a story that somehow has everyone in the room laughing.
Of course, this isn’t just a headline show. Ripping Yarms Comedy Club has put together a full bill, with Freddy Quinne taking on MC duties for the evening. An award-winning comedian known for his opinionated, no-holds-barred style and sharp punchlines, he should ensure things get off to a suitably lively start.
Also joining the line-up is Matt Richardson, whose slick, high-energy comedy has made him a familiar face on television and Virgin Radio, as well as earning him plenty of attention for his comedy content. He’s also no stranger to the live comedy circuit, so should fit nicely into what promises to be a varied night.
Completing the bill is rising star Omar Badawy, whose fresh perspective and carefully crafted material have earned him plenty of recognition on the comedy circuit.
With three very different acts alongside Pasquale, there should be plenty to keep the audience entertained throughout the evening. Put all of that together, and you’ve got the makings of a cracking night out.
Whether you’ve been a fan of Joe Pasquale since his early TV days or simply fancy an evening of live comedy with a few different styles thrown into the mix, Ripping Yarms Comedy Club looks like a good excuse to head out, have a drink and enjoy a proper night of laughs.
