Local contemporary dance fans are in for a treat this February 17th – 30th March with balletLORENT’s 25th-anniversary special.
The well-loved dance theatre company, which is based in Newcastle, was established by award-winning Artistic Director, Liv Lorent. Lorent says 2020 is: “A year to reflect on a body of work that has developed over 25 years and share our story with the wider public.”
Exhibition-goers can expect an array of photographs, posters, film footage and costumes spanning the career of the company which give insight into the workings of balletLORENT and showcase some of the talent the dance group has to offer.
With over forty highly acclaimed productions under their belt, including a recent trilogy of classic Brothers Grimm fairytale adaptations, there will be a plethora of beautiful snapshots of the company’s work that is sure to charm event-goers regardless of whether they have been to a balletLORENT production over the last two decades or not.
The exhibition is located on the upstairs foyer of Alnwick Playhouse and is open to the general public.
BalletLORENT are also marking the occasion with a special dance performance titled ‘Afterdark’, an intimate cabaret-style evening of dance and music inspired by the company’s popular production ‘La Nuit Intime’ and ‘The Night Ball’.
