Leeds-based post-punk outfit, Autobahn, will be hitting Stockton this month when they take over the iconic KU Bar, in a dark and dramatic winter gig.
This will be the bands’ second to last gig of the month in support of their epic and highly-anticipated second album, ‘Moral Crossing’, which will be premièred in their hometown at the beginning of the month.
Expect gloomy yet strangely uplifting hooks and rhythms along with a Joy Division-esque musical soundscape, layered on top of that distinct new-wave vocal tone.
The first support act of the night is Mosaic Sun – an up-and-coming alternative-groove-indie band from Newcastle. Their latest EP, ‘Living in the Future’, was released in August and, although not getting a massive amount of exposure in the public eye, it’s nothing short of brilliant.
The five-piece has a unique and iconic sound that is very different to most bands on the circuit right now. Although using the common uplifting indie hooks, Mosaic Sun adds sparkly and funky melodies to their often soulful tracks which makes for a memorable live experience.
Also supporting is local Teesside band, Abel Raise the Cain, who will be coming back to the live scene with a vengeance since releasing their latest album, ‘For Strangers Only’.
There’s truly nothing quite like an Abel gig. Combining epic orchestral instrumentation with dramatic and memorable choruses, they’re a band that makes you shut up and listen. Overall, it’s a tight and exciting line-up for local music fans to sink their teeth into.
Autobahn play KU Bar, Stockton on Friday 24th November with support coming from Abel Raise the Cain and Mosaic Sun. Advance tickets, priced at £5.50 (including booking fee), are available from seetickets.com.
