Grassroots music venues are vital to the creative landscape of the North East. They foster innovation and live performance while giving emerging artists the opportunity to develop their craft, build audiences, and progress to larger stages. These venues provide an essential platform for musicians to showcase their creative endeavours and connect with local communities.
‘Everywhere At Once’ events are a celebration of grassroots music culture and proudly champion the importance of independent venues across the UK. The organisation has described its mission as helping “artists develop, scenes grow and communities come together”, a goal that reflects the spirit of the live music community.
‘Everywhere At Once’ prides itself on hosting more than 1,000 gigs across 400 venues over the course of a single weekend. Taking place from Friday 26th until Sunday 28th June, the nationwide event coincides with Glastonbury weekend and aims to continue showcasing Britain’s enduring love of live music. The North East has certainly not been left behind, with venues across the region preparing to host exciting performances from both established acts and emerging talent. Venues including KU in Stockton, The Cluny, The Grove, Zerox, Pilgrim, and The Lubber Fiend in Newcastle, The Forum in Darlington and more are all set to welcome crowds for a weekend packed with energy, creativity, and unforgettable performances.
Heading to The Cluny on Friday 26th June are Vigilantes, an indie-rock group from Lincolnshire known for their vibrant and atmospheric guitar sound. Having already gained experience performing at festivals and large-scale gigs, the band are expected to bring an electric atmosphere to the Newcastle venue. Their appearance promises to be a highlight of the weekend and a fantastic opportunity for local audiences to experience a rising act in an intimate setting. Vigilantes will be followed closely by Minotaurs, who are due to perform on Sunday 28th June.
Meanwhile, KU will host The Lathums on Saturday 27th June, with the Manchester indie-rock band set to perform to a sold-out crowd. Following widespread acclaim for their 2025 album, ‘Matter Does Not Define’, the group are an excellent addition to the ‘Everywhere At Once’ programme.
Supported by organisations including The National Lottery and The Music Venue Trust, ‘Everywhere At Once’ aims to protect and strengthen grassroots music venues throughout the country. Without the support of these organisations and the venues that champion emerging talent, many beloved artists may never have had the opportunity to succeed.
