American Express presents Roundhay Festival, one of the newest highlights of Leeds’s 2026 summer cultural calendar, with Scottish superstar Lewis Capaldi set to headline on Saturday 4th July. Joining him are newly announced acts Jessie Murph, Kerr Mercer, Nieve Ella, Ber and Amex Unsigned artist Maya Lane, alongside previously announced special guests Conan Gray and Jacob Alon.
Growing up in a small town in the American South, Jessie Murph has emerged as one of the most compelling new voices in modern music. Blending trap, R&B, pop and country influences, she first gained momentum through social media before releasing her 2023 mixtape ‘Drowning’, featuring standout track ‘Always Been You’. Since then, collaborations with artists including Jelly Roll, Maren Morris and Koe Wetzel have helped establish her reputation for fearless, emotionally charged songwriting. Her 2025 breakthrough, driven by tracks including ‘Gucci Mane’ and ‘Blue Strips’, led into her third album, ‘Sex Hysteria’.
Another rising Scottish talent, Kerr Mercer brings soulful pop to the festival with the backing of Lewis Capaldi, who has supported his career and co-written with him. Influenced by artists such as Sam Cooke, Ray Charles and Etta James, Mercer has gained attention for singles including ‘Alcohol’ and ‘0:01’, alongside support slots with Myles Smith and Teddy Swims.
Meanwhile, Nieve Ella continues her rapid ascent within indie music. Her acclaimed 2024 EP ‘Watch It Ache And Bleed’ and recent single ‘Drive’ showcase a darker, more confident sound. Having toured with artists including Girl in Red, she has become one of the UK’s most exciting emerging indie voices.
American artist Ber will also appear at the festival, performing material from her debut album ‘Good, Like It Should Be’, including tracks ‘Give It All Away’, ‘Good, Real’ and ‘Who’s This’. London singer Maya Lane completes the latest announcement, bringing her pop-country and folk influences to Leeds following appearances at BST Hyde Park, Country 2 Country and The Great Escape.
Set within the historic surroundings of Roundhay Park, which has previously hosted legendary performances from Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, U2 and Ed Sheeran, the festival promises to be one of the summer’s biggest live music events.
Capaldi’s headline performance follows the success of his EP ‘Survive’, whose title track became the fastest-selling UK single of 2025. Following a sold-out UK arena tour and a hugely celebrated return to live performance, his appearance at Roundhay Festival is expected to be one of the defining moments of the summer.
