Sophia, a rising star from the North East, delivers another emotional track, this time exploring that universally relatable feeling that comes from being in a moment that you never want to end.
As the title suggests, ‘Stay’ is about the desire to remain in that moment where everything feels content. It’s a song about deeply personal feelings. And who better to deliver it than Sophia whose voice carries a natural emotive quality that’s somewhat hypnotic to listeners.
The vocals are heavily produced but her natural ability is still given room to shine – and the vocal prowess of Sophia elevates ‘Stay’ above your run-of-the-mill pop song. The lyrics carry added believability when delivered with such elegance.
The single follows on from previous release, ‘Skin’, which received widespread praise and saw repeat plays on BBC Introducing North East.
