Formed in Leeds in 1985, The Wedding Present remain one of indie’s most enduring cult bands.
Despite numerous line-up changes, frontman David Gedge has always led the way with his jangle-pop guitar style and sardonic baritone, singing of doomed love and heartbreak.
To celebrate their 40th anniversary, the band will play Newcastle’s Boiler Shop on Thursday 9th October as part of their UK tour. Expect fan favourites, classics, and surprises.
If you’re not a fan yet, listen to ‘George Best’, ‘Bizarro’, and ‘Seamonsters’.
Long-time devotees – see you in the mosh pit.
Tickets, priced at £28.00 in advance, are available from boilershop.net.
