Festival season is well and truly peaking around the country, and now, on Saturday 19th August, comes ‘Two Divided by Zero’, a new music festival taking place across two grassroots venues in North Shields.
Featuring a handpicked and wonderfully varied line-up of talent, the festival will be held at Three Tanners Bank and The Engine Room.
The first wave of line-up announcements saw several up-and-coming and already-established local acts such as Scott Hepple and The Sun Band, a psychedelic folk-rock outfit who will be embarking on their first-ever European Tour this October and November.
Also on the bill is local doom disco merchant William Denton Wilde (WDW), a three-piece comprising of one PVC high-heeled boot-clad human, a bass guitar named Shirley, and a computer. Expect to hear dark, synth-laden tales of macabre local history interspersed with discussions regarding classic ‘80s movies. WDW has recently released two new singles, ‘Friends are Fickle (He’ll Know My Brothers Name)’ and ‘Dark Lonely Highway’.
Also featuring is Bugman, the latest project by local punk Ryan Siddall (formerly known as Ryanisfun) who released latest single ‘Fever Dream’ back in June.
North East psych-punks TV Death are back in North Shields and are no strangers to The Engine Room, with the band releasing their limited-edition EP ‘Welcome to the Feast’ there back in December 2022.
Teenage alt-rock trio The Timewasters will be performing tracks from their sophomore EP ‘Heartbreaker’, released on Valentine’s Day earlier this year, with the festival serving as something of a warm-up for their headline performance at The Cluny 2 on Tuesday 29th August.
Also set to perform are Steff Mundi (who released their debut EP ‘Short Stories’ in February), Marginal Gains, Single Black Olive, dream-pop trio Tchotchke, singer-songwriter Maius Mollis (whose latest EP is set for release in October), The Symptoms, Waves of Dread and Young Property Developers.
Keep your eyes peeled to the festival’s social media pages for updates including further artist announcements and stage times.
