A funky release from this Geordie four-piece, ‘Mind’ by BALTIC is a great expression of what this indie-pop group are all about.
BALTIC reflect a more classic impression of British indie music, not unlike older Arctic Monkeys releases or the Britpop scene of the ‘90s.
Carefree and quintessentially teenage, this double A-side is a shining example of the bursting popularity of indie-rock in the local scene.
With toe-tappingly catchy guitar entwined with rolling drum beats, both the title single and ‘Shake (Shake)’ are sickeningly packed with positivity.
Wickedly punchy guitar solos are a true highlight of each track – especially impressive in ‘Mind’ – and are clearly a strong point of this Newcastle quartet.
Their first release so far this year, BALTIC are once again proving themselves as a force to be reckoned with.
Supporting bands such as The K’s in NX in March this year, it’s clear they aren’t slowing down any time soon.
