Teesside artist Dale Husband, also known as Glad Town Ghost, returns with his latest release, ‘Dreamsong TS10’, an EP that blends the rustic tones of Appalachian-inspired folk with lyrical reflections on life in the Cleveland Hills. It is a sound that draws upon influences such as Jack C. Frank and Cormac McCarthy, creating a uniquely atmospheric project.
Each track carries its own character, enriched by carefully considered lyrics. ‘South Gare’ imagines a life lived in a new timeline while retaining a quiet optimism. ‘Motherland’ transports listeners to a place and time longed for, steeped in nostalgia. ‘Shoe Shop Dreams’ dares us to confront paths not taken, and the record closes with ‘Our Families Are All That We Have’, a song of disarming simplicity and sentiment.
‘Dreamsong TS10’ is a well-defined musical statement with a clear sense of genre and meaning. Its only shortcoming lies in vocals that at times feel forced, as though the artist is aiming for a style that does not entirely match his natural delivery.
You can listen to the EP now on all major streaming platforms.
