Since their formation just a few years ago, The Larches have really developed their live sound – but capturing their raw energy in a studio setting has proved to be a bit of a challenge.
The group have released their first EP, a self-titled composition made up of four top tracks.
Opening anthem, ‘The Bobbies’, opens with, as you may expect, police sirens whirring away before jumping into heavy drums and guitar riffs. It’s a rough and ready rock track themed on the anarchy of the police.
‘Dead Rat’ keeps up the heavy influence and is crammed with intense non-stop rock that doesn’t let up throughout the track, with its added screamo-injected moments.
‘You Don’t Care’ is a little more restrained compared to the two previous tracks but it still maintains power in its performance and hits you with its high-octane energy.
‘Chained’ closes out the EP with a two-minute hit that lifts you and brings you to a comedown. It’s a track that eases you out of the manic energy of the EP whilst retaining the chaotic rock element the band embodies.
You can listen to the EP now on all major streaming platforms.
