In all honesty, I enjoy the big band attitude of The Skapones as there’s a real sense of fun and madness about their live performances. And whilst I listen to this new track, I can’t help but think that it would sound so much better in a live setting.
That might be the one drawback of a band like this – they may struggle to capture the chaotic energy of their performance within the setting of a studio – but the single’s video certainly attempts to capture it and triumphs.
These guys are first and foremost friends and this comes across in their music as there’s a real sense of celebration.
Some of the Darlington band’s previous material hasn’t always reflected this mantra, however, and you can expect a diverse range of tracks from their live performance, of which I’d encourage you to experience as soon as possible.
