North East outfit Trip Awake, made up of members Fiona Gray, Bernie Christie and Adam Cornell, is a songwriting trio from across the North East.
The trio performed at Sage Gateshead back in 2018, with this newly-released track the opening piece. The track is a rearranged take on Bernie Christie’s own composition, and it gave the members the inspiration to actually become the band.
There is no doubt that Trip Awake will take the listener away from the craziness of today’s current climate, almost to the point of you not wanting the track to end.
Fiona’s floaty vocal tone glides over a slow deep base sound; it’s not too dissimilar to the vocal tones of Dido, with the melody uncannily like ‘Fever’ by Peggy Lee.
Fans should look out for further audio/video material releases that are currently in the pipeline.
