Due to the coronavirus outbreak, live music in the North East has undoubtedly taken a hit.
In response to venue closures and gig cancellations, Lee Tuck and 19 other local musicians have worked together to cover Aerosmith’s ‘Love in an Elevator’ with the aim of lifting spirits during this time rather than gaining profits.
Each musician recorded their part with resources in their homes which, together, created the full piece. So far, I had only seen this with classical music so it’s great to see this done with a rock song as well as being by locals that are genuinely passionate about music.
The unconventional cover reached over 10,000 people in under 24 hours, as well as being mentioned by London Rock and Roll magazine, Classic Rock. This project is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and I hope to see more covers like this soon.
