On Friday 14th and Saturday 15th July, the incredible Last Stop to Edinburgh Comedy Festival comes to The Georgian Theatre in Stockton for its third successive year.
This year, organisers have brought in seven unique and up-and-coming acts that are certain to keep you entertained.
On Friday, they welcome Johnny Pelham, a sublime comedian that has appeared on highly regarded shows such as Live at the Apollo and Mock the Week. His shows have been critically acclaimed and he has written and starred in many scripted comedy projects too.
Following Johnny will be Mark Simmons, a master of one-liners. He is fresh from national tours supporting the likes of Michael McIntyre, Sean Lock and Jack Dee.
Lou Conran, a former Oxford’s School of Speech and drama student who was constantly told off for not taking acting seriously, has been invited to Stockton too. She is hilarious, a master of storytelling and can make a stand-up show about anything. She also won the Best MC Award 2020/21 and the Comic’s Comic Award.
Friday looks set to be a fantastic night with these three comedians, but that is not all, as Saturday brings four more hilarious stand-up acts to the stage.
Aidan Goatley, the Brighton-based stand-up comedian and highly talented writer, will kick off Saturday’s festivities.
Joining him will be quirky mod-looking Max Bragg, bringing his unusual and deadpan hilarious comedy style.
Then there will be an eerie darkness cast over the night with Britain’s only Goth, lesbian and transsexual comedian, Bethany Black. As you can guess from the name, Black is known for performing black comedy and dealing with controversial subjects to create a uniquely hilarious experience.
To conclude the Last Stop to Edinburgh Comedy Festival will be the great Halls of Ridiculous who are known for their incredible improv sketch show and quick-thinking, creative comical scene-making. This Yorkshire double act have been hailed as the Vic and Bob for a different generation by Shoe Cake Comedy and their funny madness is beloved by many.
If you love to laugh all day/night long, this is the weekend for you.
