The Scottish Dance Theatre will be showcasing a double bill of their latest talent this month as they bring two fascinating shows to Dance City in Newcastle.
The first performance, The Flock, is inspired by the migration of birds; while the second, Moving Cloud, pays homage to the blend of traditional Celtic music and contemporary dance. The performances have been masterminded by the great Roser López Espinosa and Sofia Nappi, two talented women who are making their mark on the European dance scene.
Espinosa’s work is characterised by precise acrobatic and delicate movements made with great precision, while Nappi uses her studies of the Gaga language as a fundamental part of her choreography inspiration.
These latest performances come from a theatre company that steeps its values in the community, with its aim to connect us all through meaningful experiences. It is not afraid to blend high art with social responsibility as it looks outwards for ways in which it can expand our horizons.
Tickets, priced £18.00 in advance, are available at dancecity.co.uk.
