Genre: Romantic Comedy
Directed by Dean Craig, Love. Wedding. Repeat is the latest addition to the ever-growing catalogue of dire Netflix original romantic-comedies, yet it’s one many will watch.
During a time of isolation and retreat, audiences could do with a good light-hearted laugh but they’ll find no momentary cure to quarantine with this chaotic insult to cinema.
Love. Wedding. Repeat tries desperately to emulate the charm and bourgeoisie temper of a Richard Curtis flic but fails miserably.
The first half is irrelevant, and the second is as tedious as it is unfunny. I hated every character and loathed everything else besides the charming Italian setting. Claflin, though, is bearable and appears to apply a degree of effort, as does Aisling Bea and Joel Fry; however, Tim Key is stranded by puny dialogue and Allan Mustafa left blatantly and poorly imitating David Brent.
If anyone recommends that you watch Love. Wedding. Repeat, refuse profusely and suspect they seek to spite you. It really is that bad.
