The renowned Hardwick Festival will shortly return to Sedgefield. And with a stellar line-up and a diverse programme of entertainment on offer, there is something for everyone. With fairground rides, a comedy tent, magic shows, two stages of live music along with multiple dance arenas spread across the grounds of Hardwick Hall Hotel, the event features something for the whole family.
You may remember a couple of years ago, Hardwick Festival made national news when a video of a pair of Kevin and Perry lookalikes went viral online; even Kathy Burke herself was overwhelmed by their striking resemblance. The dynamic duo was spotted in the Hardwick crowd again last year – so keep a lookout, and a prized selfie with the pair could be yours.
This year’s event has grown in size and stature with the addition of a third day of festivities, with Hardwick Live running across the weekend of the 18th – 20th August.
The Friday evening will welcome a varied programme of live acts. Headliners, Hacienda Classical, will be putting their unique spin on the music of the legendary and somewhat sadly missed Manchester nightclub, whilst The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show will be on hand to get the party started earlier in the evening.
The main stage acts on Saturday 19th August include the return of Spice Girl Melanie C, who performed at the festival in 2018, whilst indie-rock legends The Kooks and The Vaccines top the main stage bill.
Of course, as with previous years, Hardwick Live will feature numerous artists from the North East too including the likes of Liam Fender, Lizzie Esau, The Pale White, Beth Macari and The Voluntears, to name but a few.
With Hacienda Classical opening the event, the sounds of the North West will prevail across the weekend, with a distinctly Mancunian-themed main stage bill closing out the festival on Sunday 20th August, with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Johnny Marr from The Smiths topping the bill. Subsequently, a turbocharged undercard featuring The Cribs, local lad Andrew Cushin, chart toppers The Lottery Winners and Megan Mckenna means that Sunday’s lineup is unmissable.
Hardwick Live will return to Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield over the weekend of the 18th-20th August.
