She’s a gem in the crown of the North East music scene and she’s taking her talent on the road, as Amelia Coburn announces her new headline tour.
The award-winning artist’s tour will consist of seven dates throughout March and April, as she heads to Newcastle, Birmingham, Skinningrove, Salford, Leeds, and Washington. She’s kickstarting her tour with a show at Newcastle’s The Globe, supporting fellow folk music star, Nick Parker.
Previously winning the UKE Magazine Breakthrough Artist award, and placing as a finalist in the BBC Folk Awards, Coburn is making a name for herself in both folk fan circles and the UK’s music scene as a whole – and it’s not hard to see why.
The tour comes as a precursor to Coburn’s next release as, following the tour, she is set to head into the studio with legendary producer and performer, Bill Ryder-Jones. Hoping to get the album out in May 2024, it’s going to be a busy year or so and will give fans the perfect chance to get a glimpse into some of the upcoming original content that may find its way onto the album.
After the great success of her sold-out debut solo UK tour, Amelia has been able to take great joy and inspiration from travelling and invest it back into her upcoming performances and her new music.
With an ever-developing back catalogue of music, Coburn’s tour is as highly anticipated as her upcoming album. And with a variety of live performances already under her belt from the likes of Focus Wales and the Cambridge Folk Festival, she is no stranger to the live stage and is perfecting the art of performing live.
Thanks to her ability to take inspiration from the people she meets and places she goes, there is no doubt that this tour will be just as enriching for fans as it is for artist and will, hopefully, provide Amelia with the chance to take further inspiration from her endeavours. So who knows, perhaps your attendance at the shows could be the next spark for future open-minded and emotive creations from Coburn.
And although she has yet to announce her support artists for the tour, one thing you can be guaranteed is that they will be top-class acts like Coburn herself.
So, if you’re looking to be captivated and enchanted by a unique and surprising folk artist, then grab your tickets now.
