Before the launch of her brand-new studio album at the start of next year, Amelia Coburn and her lively band will be performing at ARC, Stockton on Saturday 9th December. The breathtaking singer-songwriter from Middlesbrough returns to this stunning venue in what has become a bit of a festive tradition, promising a night full of energy and raw talent.
This gig is one show on her UK tour. And Stockton has the amazing chance to see this local stop-off before the tour hits venues in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and many more.
Previously, her performances have been described as breathtaking, dynamic and leaving audiences stunned from start to finish – so this is certainly a gig not to miss.
The audience will have the chance to hear tracks from her upcoming debut studio album. From playfully quaint jazz pieces to more gothic tales, Coburn’s repertoire of tracks is sure to please the entire crowd.
Starting the recording process for her new album in May of this year, Coburn teamed up with founding member of The Coral, Bill Ryder-Jones, to record her studio album, an opportunity for her to showcase her vast talent in creativity and present the many sides to her musical confidence.
Hopefully, as well as her new tunes, we will have the chance to see her perform some old classics such as ‘Song of the Sea Rover’, a firm favourite of mine.
Support on the night comes from singer-songwriter Marina Josephina (of The Lulas), adding a new dimension to a fantastic evening. Having such a powerful voice open the show for Amelia is just a taste of what is to come, with Coburn’s set promising to leave the audience wanting more.
Coburn’s success is clear to see: she was a BBC Folk Awards finalist, UKE Magazine Breakthrough Artist winner and English Folk Expo mentee. If you have seen Coburn perform live before, you will understand how deserving of these accolades she is.
