Renowned Teesside-based promoters Big Figure Promotions have an exciting series of live shows lined up, bringing a diverse range of musical acts to the Teesside area in the coming months. Whether you’re into high-energy garage punk, post-punk classics, or reflective solo performances, there’s something for everyone in this jam-packed schedule.
On Friday 4th April they welcome The Beatpack to our very own NE Volume Music Bar in Stockton. The Beatpack, a band with over 30 years of history, will return to Stockton for an electrifying night of ‘60s garage punk, rhythm & blues, and raw blues. With their legendary live shows, the band delivers high-octane performances that have seen them tour Scotland, Spain, and Germany. Following a long break, they’ve been back in action since 2012, releasing two albums, including ‘All Good Things (Turn to Dust)’ and ‘The Violet Hour’, both available on Spinout Nuggets. Their energetic performances often leave the crowd in awe, with tambourines, guitars, and hearts breaking along the way.
And on Friday 25th April, the promoters bring Wasted Youth to The Georgian Theatre, Stockton. Wasted Youth, the iconic post-punk band, are back and ready to prove they’re not just a nostalgia act. Having reformed in 2021, they’ve quickly gained momentum with sold-out shows and festival appearances, including Rebellion and Wide Awake. Featuring members from Thee Hypnotics, Cockney Rejects, and Dorothy Vallens, the revived Wasted Youth will perform their fresh material while paying homage to their legacy. Support for the night will come from Turning Black Like Lizards, with music in between from DJ Grant Schofield.
And on Saturday 3rd May, the promoters bring The Fallen Leaves and Thee Strawberry Mynde to our own NE Volume Music Bar in Stockton. The Fallen Leaves will bring their unique brand of punk, mod, and garage to the venue, promising a night of simple yet powerful songs for complex people. Their manifesto? “No jeans. No t-shirts. No cover versions.” This punk rock band champions the DIY ethos and delivers raw, minimal live recordings with a focus on performance over production.
Also on the bill, Thee Strawberry Mynde will bring their 60s-tinged garage punk/psyche thrashings, fresh off the back of a new line-up and recordings produced by Graham Day. Expect high-energy performances and a sound that’s perfect for fans of vintage garage rock.
Also joining the line-up is Helen McCookerybook, a legendary figure in the UK indie and punk scene.
