News: Doctors of Madness at NE Volume Music Bar, Stockton by Ellie Nichols
Doctors of Madness formed in 1974 in a basement in Brixton, South London, by the band’s composer and lead singer/guitarist, Richard Strange. Strange joined forces with Stoner, also known as Colin Bentley, on bass guitar/vocals, along with Peter DiLemma (drums/vocals), and Urban Blitz (electric violin/baritone violectra/ lead guitar).
Doctors of Madness are the great outsiders of rock history. As described by The Guardian: “They are the missing link between David Bowie and The Sex Pistols). And in the words of Def Leppard’s frontman, Joe Elliot, they are: “Monstrously brilliant”.
