Teesside’s biggest and longest-running multi-venue festival has announced the first of its 2024 headliners.
The Enemy will be headlining the ARC Stockton Arts Centre stage at Stockton Calling 2024 – taking place next Easter Saturday – March 30th. The Coventry band has been bringing their gritty, passionate indie rock to the masses since storming onto the scene in 2007. With infectious anthems like ‘Away from Here’ and ‘We’ll Live and Die in These Towns’.
Chris Cobain, one of Stockton Calling’s programmers, spoke about the booking: “We’d say they’re possibly one of the most underrated bands of their time, but every time they’ve played Teesside over the years they’ve smashed it out of the park – attracting huge interest whenever they play.
“This is just the start of announcements for us, and it’s great to be kicking off with such a belter.”
Stockton Calling, has taken place on Easter Saturday since 2010, making it the longest-running event of its kind in the North East – attracting around 2,000 music lovers to Stockton town centre for the day.
Last year’s event attracted a record crowd and sold out several days beforehand.
Festival co-programmer Jimmy Beck is looking forward to the band visiting: “This is a great booking and a band that we’ve been chasing for some time. It’s great that we’re able to bring them to Stockton in 2024 – they are going to be amazing in ARC’s big room.
“We’ve got a bag full of targets for next year – so it’s great to get things moving with this booking.”
“Although we’re barely out of the summer, our thoughts are immediately turning to next springtime and we’re drawing up our shopping list for Stockton Calling 2024.
“We’re already getting calls and emails from interested bands – so, as usual, we’re expecting to be making some hard decisions about who we can offer slots to.”
Stockton Calling is co-promoted by Tees Music Alliance, ARC and KU Promotions – and the festival sees stages being presented in a range of venues across the town centre, featuring scores of bands performing from early afternoon onwards.
Early Bird Tickets for 2024 sold out within days and standard tickets are now available at £40 which covers all venues, all day.
