For all you lovers and followers of that punk rock ‘n’ roll sound, the place to be to let your studs shine this month will be at the Forum Music Centre in Darlington on Saturday 16th November, as the locally based Big Figure Promotions presents their hugely successful ‘Riverside Rebellion.’ This event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of punk music, drawing fans from near and far.
Now in its 8th year, this festival of all things punk has gone from strength to strength, consistently attracting an array of artists from across the country. Festival promoters Stephen and Wendy have guaranteed yet another corker of a day with an impressive line-up, including a top headliner coming over from Belfast. XSLF, a dynamic three-piece band featuring Henry Cluney on guitar and vocals, Glenn Kingsmore on drums and backing vocals, and Ave Tsarion on bass and backing vocals, will be performing at the festival as part of their current UK tour. Their tour also includes a couple of gigs slightly further afield in Germany, showcasing their broad appeal and dedication to the punk scene.
With several albums already under their belts, XSLF is sure to entertain when they stop off in Darlington. Their energetic performances are known for being full of surprises, as they thrive on making each show a unique experience. As such, what’s in store for their Darlington gig remains to be seen, but fans can expect a high-octane show that encapsulates the spirit of punk rock.
The festival will also feature an impressive array of other bands, including The Gakk, an original five-piece band hailing from Ireland, and The Dead Objectives, who are based in the North West. Sheffield’s very own The Effers, formerly known as the Fuckwits, will also take to the stage, adding to the rich tapestry of punk talent on display.
In addition to these acts, several local bands will be showcasing their talents, such as the San Niguel Band from Newton Aycliffe, known for their Oddball Rock ‘n’ Roll sound – make of that what you will. They will be joined by Red London from Sunderland and Darlington’s very own In Evil Hour.
The festival takes place on Saturday 16th November from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, so why not make a day of it?
