Comedy fans in the North East can look forward to an evening of sharp wit and unpredictable humour as Rachel Fairburn and Chris Cantrill bring a special work-in-progress show to The Forum in Darlington on Thursday 18th June as part of Hilarity Bites’ Comedy Club.
Best known for her appearances on ‘Live at the Apollo’ and the hugely popular podcast ‘All Killa No Filla’, Rachel Fairburn has built a reputation for her sharp observations, dark humour and refreshingly honest storytelling. A familiar face on the UK comedy circuit, she regularly performs at clubs and festivals across the country, winning audiences over with a style that combines cutting humour with relatable everyday experiences.
Joining her on the bill is Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Chris Cantrill, whose surreal and unpredictable material has made him a favourite on the alternative comedy scene. Known for his understated delivery and unusual take on ordinary situations, Cantrill’s live performances often shift effortlessly from deadpan observations to complete absurdity.
As both comedians test out new material ahead of future tours and festival appearances, audiences can expect an intimate evening filled with fresh ideas, spontaneous moments and audience interaction. Work-in-progress shows offer comedy fans a rare opportunity to experience material in its earliest stages before it reaches larger venues and finished productions.
With two highly regarded comedians sharing the stage, the event promises to be one of the highlights of the region’s live comedy calendar this summer.
Tickets, priced at £10.00 in advance, are available at hilaritybites.co.uk.
