‘Silent Sound’ is the latest release from Newcastle-based Ruled By Raptors, following on from the brilliantly named 2020 two-track EP, ’Now That’s What I Call a Sh*t Year”.
The EP contains four tracks and from the onset, you can draw likeness to a few alternative artists, most notably, Biffy Clyro.
‘Dance of Wolves’, the second track on the EP, is beautifully written and performed. ‘Oxy’z Moron’, by contrast, starts with brutal screams with some wonderful clean vocals dripped in just at the right time before diving towards deathcore vocals.
The final two tracks are ‘Waves’ and ‘Cleftones’, with both songs following a more indie/alt-rock format, with some heavy riffs and clean vocals.
I look forward to seeing where Ruled By Raptors go in the future, but it’s safe to say, on this latest offering, the future is bright.
